As the weather turns colder and the days shorten, its the Holiday shopping season. With everything that’s happened in 2020, we understand that a lot of people haven’t had the time or energy to look that far forward, but it may be time to do so. Simply put, this Holiday season is not going to be quite the same as the rest. It is our hope to help guide you to navigating your Holiday season shopping with a little extra wisdom and to help you make sure things go as smoothly as possible this year.
As you’re probably aware, COVID-19 did a number on most forms of business, with shipping and distribution being hit particularly hard. Now, with a second resurgence looming over us, we are already seeing delays and shutdowns on the horizon. This does not mean that the Holiday season is doomed! Far from it. But it does mean you should be conscious about expectations and planning for your Holiday shopping. Stock levels and availability of products are not going to be the same as they once were. The time it may take to ship products is going to expand without warning, and couriers/delivery companies have already begun pulling down their delivery guarantees. There is going to be a lot of congestion as we near the Holiday season. Products coming from overseas are going to get delayed. All of that is going to cause demand to go out, and stock levels to drop rapidly.
